Muzo — Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Muzo ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application operated by CreativeTube Ltd (the "Operator"), based in the United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Muzo mobile app and related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Summary in plain English

We collect the bare minimum needed to make Muzo work.
We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Screenshots you upload are processed to extract text, then deleted from our servers within minutes — we don't store images.
The extracted chat text is stored under your account so you can return to chats later. You can delete everything any time from Settings.
Reply generation is handled by Google's Gemini API on our behalf.

3. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect:

Email address
Password (stored only as a bcrypt hash; we never see plain text)
Display name (optional)
Sign-up timestamp and current subscription status

Content you upload

Screenshots: when you use the screenshot feature, the image is sent to Google's Gemini API for OCR processing. After processing completes, the image is deleted from our servers within minutes. We do not retain or back up uploaded images.
Extracted chat text: the messages and contact name extracted from your screenshots are stored under your account so you can revisit a chat later.

Generated replies

We store the AI-generated reply suggestions tied to each chat so you can return to them. We also log which reply angle (e.g. "Bold", "Playful") you tap to copy, so we can improve future suggestions.

Device and notification data

Expo Push Token (an opaque identifier from Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can notify you when generations complete.
App version and platform (Android / iOS).

Subscription information

If you purchase a subscription, we receive purchase status (active, cancelled, expired) from the Google Play Store via RevenueCat. We do not receive your payment card or banking details — Google handles those.

Usage signals

Counts of generations per day and per lifetime (for quota enforcement)
Anonymised error reports (no personally identifying information)

4. How we use information

We use your information to:

Operate Muzo: sign you in, generate replies, notify you when work completes
Enforce free-tier limits and subscription gates
Improve AI quality based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns
Send transactional notifications you've opted into
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling across third-party sites, or anything beyond running the Service.

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

6. Where data is stored

Account data, chat history, and reply history are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted by DigitalOcean. This means your data may be processed and stored outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. By using Muzo you consent to this transfer.

7. How long we keep data

Account info: until you delete your account
Chats and replies: until you delete them or your account
Uploaded screenshots: deleted within minutes after AI processing — never stored long-term
Push tokens: until they become invalid or you sign out
Anonymised usage logs: up to 90 days

8. Your rights

You can:

Access: view your data through the app's chats list and account screen.
Delete: tap "Delete account" in Settings → Account to permanently remove your account, chats, and generated replies. This action is irreversible.
Export: contact us for a copy of the data we hold about you.

If you are based in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under UK GDPR / GDPR including the right to object, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt; we never store them in plain text
All API traffic is HTTPS only
The database is encrypted at rest
Access to production systems is restricted to authorised operators

No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data we'll notify affected users within 72 hours and take appropriate remediation steps.

10. Children

Muzo is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via the app and/or by email. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
